About Us

Dance Time was opened in North Buffalo in 2002. We will be entering our 10th season in September. We are committed to providing a positive, fun learning environment for dancers of all ages. We strongly encourage each dancer to set long and short term goals for themselves and our teachers work hard to help each dancer set and achieve reasonable goals for themselves. Our students learn so many skills, gain so much confidence and self-esteem, as well as have a lot of fun the whole time!

We believe that each dancer is unique and will learn at their own pace. We strive to provide classes for each type of student at varying levels. We also offer a competitive program for serious students to take their dance training to the next level and challenge themselves through performing and competing.

All students of all ages and levels perform in our annual recital. Our recital is held at the beautiful theater at Buffalo State College Rockwell Hall. The performance gives students something extra to look forward to and work towards, as well as an opportunity for students to show off what they have learned this year, in a fun exciting onstage performance with costumes, scenery and fancy lighting. We feel that performing is an important part of a dancer's training and strongly encourage all dancers to participate in the recital.

The school was founded by and is directed by Jamie Sweet-Kiefer. Miss Jamie began dancing at the age of 4 and studied tap, jazz, ballet, and lyrical. She has completed Dance Masters of America's teacher training school 4 year dance teacher program at the University of Buffalo. She is a certified member of Dance Masters of America and continues to attend and actively participate in training programs, workshops, and conventions to keep up with the latest teaching methods and techniques.

All staff members are professionally trained and continue to attend workshops and conventions to keep up with the latest teaching methods and techniques. I strongly believe our staff is one of our strongest assets and I have searched long and hard to find the amazing, talented, caring staff that I have. I believe that in order to maintain the standards I have set forth for my school, I need to have only the best working with me, and I do. Each of our teachers, like myself, truly loves what they do, and has a true desire to bring out the best in each and every one of their students. I am very proud of our staff and how well all of us work together as a family.

Dance Time has a family atmosphere within our studios. Our staff is committed to helping each student achieve his/her personal best. Our studio is like a family, and as the students grow they make wonderful friends, and grow to support each other. Its really an amazing thing for me to watch, but right before my eyes, I watch my students go from preschoolers learning to walk on their tiptoes, and as they grow they develop so many skills, so much confidence, and make such wonderful friends. I am very proud of all that Dance Time has become over the past 10 years, and am very excited for what is to come.

Dance Time welcomes students of all ages, levels, races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds.
